Cromwell Shakir is a veteran community activist, businessman, former Senator, and religious leader whose career spans decades of public service and youth advocacy. He is the longtime proprietor of the Nu-Look Barber Shop in Hamilton, a former Junior Minister for Health and Works, and a former Imam of Masjid Muhammad. Awarded the Queen’s Certificate and Badge of Honour for his work with Bermuda’s youth, he has built his life on a strong foundation of faith, civic duty, and community building.

Shakir transitioned into radio after years of engaging in grassroots discussions and serving as a bridge-builder across spiritual and political divides. His background as a small business owner, public servant, and spiritual leader—combined with his passion for civil discourse—inspired him to bring his voice to the airwaves to offer a practical, grounding perspective to a broader audience.
